In the US, should your cellphone area code be local to the place where you spend most of your time?
johnny_dee asked:
I’m wondering: if I’m visiting the US and planning to spend a couple of months in one city, is there an advantage to having a cellphone number with the area code local to that area? Or does it make no practical difference? Most other countries don’t have geographic cellphone numbers…
I’ve been offered a good deal on a SIM card but its area code is for a city 2000 miles away (and you can’t change it).
Thanks for advice!

Yes 51% of your calls have to made from you home network meaning the same area that your number come from. or there is a risk of having your carrier terminate your service
