How do I activate an unlocked mobile phone?

just put your chip in it. you will have to take it somewhere to get the internet set up for your provider tho (if its not already cingular) any cingular store should do that for free.
Cingular does not offer what verizon calls a Worry Free Garrantee. You can switch your plan, change the kind of phone on your plan. Will cingular you cannot do this. They charge upto $75 to change the kind of phone.
