How do you design phones Google Android SDK?

I am very very very interested in designing my own phone with Google’s new SDK, Android. One question is keeping me from downloading the kit right now. To write programs for phones using Android, does one need to be a professional software developer, or can any 13-year-old boy make the mobile device of his dreams? And furthermore, what about price?

blackberry service?

if i get a blackberry phone (they are the cheapest right now on ebay)…do i have to pay for the blackberry service fee stuff too? i don’t want to buy a phone from verizon because it will renew my plan so i am going to buy one on ebay and take it in so they can switch it. if i go in and tell them i dont want email services and stuff (i dont want to pay an extra fee) will they be okay with that?
